How do you propose to make the USB-to-RS232 cable work as a USB host ?
All the cables that I have seen for sale, are USB slaves. They must
plug into a USB connector on a PC. The PC is the USB host.
I mean, I will connect usb barcode reader to the usb side of the converter then I will connect rs232 side of the converter to the pic. The question is, such a thing is possible?
In the user manual of there are some barcodes to program barcode reader. One of the barcode in this section is to select the connection type(usb, rs232 etc.) However the problem is I need to do this without changing the cable in barcode reader.
I read the first page of this thread. People have been telling you this
over and over again. They told you to use the FTDI Vinculum chip, or a
PIC32, etc., chip that can be a USB host. I'm done. I'm not going to
try to convince you any more. See this Microchip video:

Anyway, it will be difficult to understand what you are trying to tell me, without practicing. I will give it a try.
Thank you all, thank you very much for your patience and help. All comments appreciated.
